Prior to committing to a 9 hour / 480 mile journey a firm agreement was made on a part exchange value for my vehicle. The vehicle registration was provided and Hitchin Motor Sales offered a part ex value on my vehicle. Although this was below the part ex market value, I agreed to the valuation for the sake of convenience. After travelling to Hitchin Motor Sales, Luke / James (no introduction was given as he was preoccupied with his mobile upon arrival) arrived 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. After travelling almost 5 hours I was greeted with the swagger of a want to be wide boy “my bro says it’s worth 7 grand but I don’t.” I explained we had a gentleman’s agreement on the value prior to my arrival “but it isn’t a facelift”. Considering the vehicle reg was provided this was completely transparent and should not have been a ‘surprise’. I was told “my bro should have told you to send pics”. Perhaps he should. However, he didn’t which only demonstrates the lack of due diligence and accountability. I was told the valuation was wrong. However, I provided printed evidence of the market value (£6,970) which coincided with “his bro’s value of 7 grand”. However, I was told I was wrong (although it wasn’t my value, it was that of the auto trader and parker’s guide valuation) and he would give me significantly less than the already agreed value. Furthermore, the “immaculate vehicle with full service history” in actuality had various obvious mechanical faults and missed service intervals. Vehicle not as described and zero integrity and professionalism allowing a perspective buyer to travel almost 500 miles to then change the valuation due to a lack of due diligence on Hitchen’s behalf. There are plenty of genuine Motor traders out there, I’d encourage others to consider looking else where prior to wasting 9 hours and 480 miles. Avoid.

Totally a friendly approach to selling cars, I found my perfect Honda CRV with them and my trade in was well worth it. Recommended you to anyone and are honest and up front. Trust me could not get any better.

Luke was fantastic. Buying the car was such an easy process, and they kindly delivered the car to me with no hassle. The car is exactly as described, and drives smoothly with no issues.
